Son of Florida

I am trying to find a flower that will grow and bloom in the hot Florida sun.?

I have a small flower bed in front of my house that gets direct sunlight almost all day long and in the afternoons it is hot. Plus, I have added nice soil but it is mixed in with the existing ground which is dirt and sand mixed. What flowering plant can withstand these conditions and not burn up?

  1. Periwinkle. I've seen it growing in the median in Tampa, on Dale Mabry Blvd. It does not like to be mixed with other flowers though.
